What cookies are

Cookies are small pieces of text a website asks your browser to remember. Some are essential to make a site work. Others are used for tracking and advertising. We use the first kind sparingly, and not the second kind at all.

What we use

Essential cookies. A small number of cookies are required for the site to function — for example, to remember an admin session if you are an editor logged into the admin dashboard. These are set only when you actively use the relevant feature.

Cloudflare Turnstile. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare's Turnstile bot-detection widget. Turnstile may set a short-lived cookie when you submit the form, used solely to confirm that the submission originated from a human. The cookie expires automatically and is not used for any other purpose.

What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. We do not use cross-site identifiers. We do not use analytics that profile individual readers.

How to disable cookies

You can disable cookies entirely or selectively through your browser settings. The exact steps differ by browser:

  • Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.

Disabling essential cookies may break the contact form and the admin dashboard. Reading articles will still work.
